Last chance for the BonaFEST to happen this year. A meeting will be held on Monday, March 24th at 6:00 in Memorial Hall. If you want the BonaFEST to take place this year, come and step forward. We need leaders to make this happen. Monday at 6:00 in the Memorial Hall.

The Eucharist is described as the ‘source and the summit of the Christian Life’. It gives us the strength to live the life we are called to, and it is the embodiment of the life that we desire.

It is with sadness that we announce that our beloved former pastor Rev. Edward Sheedy entered eternal life on March 7, 2025. After a priesthood that spanned over fifty years, Fr. Ed came here to Olean as pastor of St. John Parish in Olean in 2009, a position he held until his 2016 retirement. A Memorial Mass in honor of Rev. Edward Sheedy will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Michael W. Fisher on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11 am at St. Philip the Apostle, 950 Losson Road, Cheektowaga.

Be prepared for a new Mass Schedule change effective April 26/27 (Divine Mercy Sunday): We will be canceling the 7 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass and adding an 8 a.m. Sunday Mass at the Basilica. Also, St. John’s Saturday Vigil Mass time will change from 5:30 to 5:15 p.m.

Guard what you have received. God the Father has marked you with his sign; Christ the Lord has confirmed you and placed his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts. (St. Ambrose)

John tried to refuse him with the protest, “ I should be baptized by you, yet you come to me!” Jesus answered: “Give in for now. We must do this if we would fulfill all of God’s demands.” So John gave in. (Mt 3: 14-15)

A brief meeting will take place after all EMCC Masses to meet with current greeters and ushers and provide information for those that may be interested in serving in that role.
