Click on above title for complete reflection. This week we celebrate the gift of the Church at St. Joseph Cathedral on Tuesday of Holy Week at the Chrism Mass. Jesus gave us the gifts of the Eucharist and the Priesthood that we can celebrate on Holy Thursday at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Jesus gave us the great witness of His love on the Cross that we can experience at St. John the Evangelist on Good Friday. Jesus gave us not only a light in the midst of darkness but also continues to inspire the hearts of members of our community to enter into the Church or to be received into full communion; a reality we can celebrate at St. Bonaventure on the Easter Vigil.
ATTN: PARISHIONERS AND OTHER CATHOLIC MEMBERS OF OUR WIDER COMMUNITIES Come to a spiritual conversation on the topic of "For a Synodal Church" on Saturday, March 23 from 9:30 am—11:00 am in the Parish Life Center Conference Room. The questions to be reflected on are: 1. Where have I seen or experienced successes and distresses within the Church's structure(s)/organization/leadership/life that encourages or hinders the call to proclaim the Gospel and to live as a community of love and mercy in Christ? Following up on the first question: How can the structures and organization of the Church help all the baptized to respond to the call to proclaim the Gospel and to live as a community of love and mercy in Christ? Your input will be greatly appreciated and may also be a learning experience for you into moving into a spiritual conversation. If interested, please take some time to pray over Isaiah 61 and ask God to open your heart to respond to these questions. With this, we ask that you write down three to five sentences in answer to each question. We hope to see you there.
“Noise is a deceptive, addictive, and false tranquilizer. The tragedy of our world is never better summed up than in the fury of senseless noise that stubbornly hates silence. This age detests the things that silence brings us to: encounter, wonder and kneeling before God.” Click on title for complete reflection.
