This week let’s focus on the Presence of our Blessed Trinity in our lives, via the Sacraments and via the grace and love of God, no matter what state we’re in regarding our spiritual life.
--The rosary will be prayed 30 minutes before Weekend Masses to honor Our Lady during her month of May. --Our Music Director, Dawn Both, had successful shoulder surgery. Please continue to pray for her quick recovery. This is shared with her permission. --Parish Office will be closed Monday, May 31, for Memorial Day.
The obligation to attend Sunday Mass now resumes, effective the weekend of June 5-6, 2021, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ in our dioceses. Click on orange title for link to the Diocese of Buffalo.
Jesus tells us that the Spirit will guide us to all truth and glorify God by declaring His love and mercy. That’s what we’re called to do when we embrace the faith and receive the Sacraments. We are to glorify God and proclaim His love via our faith-sharing and ministering to others in whatever ministries to which we are called. We are called to be like the disciples in today’s first reading. Come Holy Spirit!
“My thoughts are not your thoughts; my ways are not your ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” -- Isaiah 55:8 For complete article by Fr. John, press orange title above.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.” -- Matthew 26: 26-28 Please press orange title above.
A special prayer for and thank you to all of our Mothers, Grandmothers and Godmothers and those that offered motherly care to us who helped guide our feet into the way of God’s Peace. May you all be blessed this weekend whether receiving these blessings here on earth or in Heaven. Happy Mother’s Day to all from the ministry team and from the staff of the Basilica. Much Love, Fr.
