The Lord is risen! He is risen, indeed! (Orthodox greeting based in part on Luke 24:34) Jesus' resurrection is not just a truth for the ages but each year, a life-changing event, a life-giving event for us all. His Resurrection is not just Easter celebrated on April 9, 2023, but it is Easter Truth everyday -- a living reality.
This Easter, let us embrace Our Risen Lord. He is our friend. We must act in the friendship of Christ. To be His friend, we must come from true love. in life-giving ways-- not just out of an affection for another or for our benefit, but as learned from the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit. Our offering of love is one of selfless giving so we can help others receive from us what Jesus bestowed on humanity -- the Divine Gift of making all things new in Christ renewed relationships, reborn in caring for the most vulnerable, and revitalized in our faith to share. With true knowledge of His great love for us, let us REJOICE! Let us share our gifts of joy and hope with others enveloped and wrapped in His friendship and love. As we acknowledge His love and His self gift to all the world and to each of us personally, let us enthusiastically greet each other--The Lord is risen! And, let us respond: He is risen indeed! Happy Easter and the Blessings of the Risen Lord, Fr. John
